Who are school counselors and what do they do?
“Professional school counselors are certified/licensed educators with a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling making them uniquely qualified to address all students’ academic, personal/social and career development needs by designing, implementing, evaluating and enhancing a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success. Professional school counselors are employed in elementary, middle/junior high and high schools; in district supervisory positions; and counselor education positions.”

The Silver Creek High School Counseling Department is fully committed to meeting the emotional, academic, and social needs of each and every student. Counselors provide the support, guidance, and caring necessary for all of our students to achieve success. Students are encouraged to go to the counseling office during study halls, lunchtime, time releases, passing periods, or during class with the permission of the teacher. Students are assigned to counselors alphabetically based on the first letter of their last name.
