Dear Silver Creek Raptors,
We are looking forward to a great school year at Silver Creek! Our Raptors have been hard at work this summer with so many programs ranging from P-Tech Cybersecurity Collegiate Classes, to 9th Grade Jumpstart, to Band Camps, Volleyball Camps, Football Camps, Cheer Camps, Basketball Camps, planning for the Class of 2027 Welcome Day, designing senior capstone projects, traveling within the United States to FBLA Nationals, and to the Global Leadership Summit in Europe!
We were able to accomplish some capital improvements during the course of this summer, including new sidewalks on Nelson Rd, a brand new artificial turf multipurpose playing field and a new track. We also have refinished floors in the gymnasium. We look forward to projects this year including the addition of our LED Sign on Nelson Road and completing another series of light fixture replacements in the auditorium. We have also been the beneficiary of grants in excess of $18,000 helping us establish our Unified Percussion Program!
We have some new staff members joining us this year including Erin Woltkamp, joining our English department. Mrs. Woltkamp has her Master’s Degree in English Literature and has previously taught and been a department lead at Skyline High School. Sarah Stevelinck will join us as an Academic Advisor and will be our Head Coach for Girl’s Volleyball, Coach Stevelinck has her Master’s degree in Kinesiology. Kristi Ehle-Parker returns to Silver Creek and will be serving as our Interventionist. Mrs. Ehle Parker has previously worked at Silver Creek as an Academic Guidance Counselor and has her Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Dr. Lynn Ingegneri will join our Science team. Dr. Ingegneri has recently been teaching at AIMS Community College and holds her Doctorate in Biological Sciences. Welcome to our new staff members who will be making a positive impact with our students this coming year.
Our kids continue to achieve academically at exceptional levels. Our students posted an average of 3.1 on Advanced Placement Exams (819 exams taken), with 69% of exam takers earning college credit and 69 new AP scholars. These results far exceed local, state and national averages. Our Class of 2023 achieved a 96% on time graduation rate. Our students have also achieved at the highest levels on the PSAT 9, 10 and SAT amongst SVVSD schools. We look forward to the release of national recognitions this August. Congratulations to our students, faculty, staff and the Silver Creek Community!
Students looking to make schedule changes, please take advantage of the time between 8/9 and 8/16, prior to the start of classes. Counselors will be available beginning 8/9 to assist with your inquiries. Instructional time is important and we appreciate you addressing changes prior to the start of classes, as schedule changes may be unavailable once the school year begins.
We would like to welcome our incoming Class of 2027 and our returning classes of ‘26, ‘25 and ‘24! We are looking forward to making this our best year yet!
