Early access to kindergarten and first grade | Join our informational meeting on January 8

Originally published in the Longmont Times-Call>> St. Vrain Valley School Schools offers access to early enrollment for highly advanced gifted children under the age of 6. A parent meeting to provide information regarding the early access process and characteristics of young gifted children is set for 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Student Services building, 830 South Lincoln, Longmont. Typically, children who qualify for early entrance are performing in the top 2% of the gifted population and require acceleration to meet their academic needs. Children who may be ready to enter school early have highly advanced skills in literacy and numeracy, demonstrate appropriate social readiness and have exhausted the resources of preschool. For more information, go to gifted.svvsd.org or contact Glenna Alexander at alexander_glenna@svvsd.org.

Student’s “Drones for Dreams” Inspires $25,000 OtterCares Grant for Innovation Center’s New Philanthropy Initiative
