Academics

  • Three National Merit Semifinalists

  • US NEWS and World Report Ranking greatest ranking amongst SVVSD Large Public High Schools
  • Performance Plan Designation for 24-25 Colorado Department of Education
  • Learning Doing Classrooms in Mathematics – Group Whiteboards and Academic Language Usage is in use in every math classroom.  Focus remains on conceptual, procedural and mathematics fluency. 
  • After School Math Support, After School Tutoring Support
  • 97 Students inducted into the National Honor Society – 35 community service hours, Colorado Philanthropy value of service hour is $31.51 – Value of over $100,000 to our community!
  • Students participated in the NMSQT PSAT and PSAT Practice Tests on 10/9.
  • The Colorado Department of Education recognized our school as the first in Colorado to have our Librarian, Paraprofessional and Principal earn the badges for the Highly Effective Schools through Libraries initiative.  Congratulations to Kristin Holtz, Tina Fredo and Erick Finnestead
  • PSAT NMSQT Amongst top two in high school performance 2024.

Performing Arts

  • St. Vrain Band Night was an incredible success for our Marching Band, Color Guard and Unified Percussion Ensemble
  • It is Fall Concert Season. Join us 10/16 at 7:00 pm for the Orchestra concert and 10/23 at 7:00 for the Band Concert – Great job to our Choirs on their first concert this week.
  • CLUE – it’s not just a board game, come join for the Fall theater production of CLUE on 11/1 and 11/2.
  • 18 Students will induct into the Tri M Music Honor Society for a total chapter membership for a total chapter membership of 28 students
  • The following students’ auditions placed them into the Combined League Honor Jazz Bands.  Of the 36 students in the Combined League Honor Jazz Bands 14 are from Silver Creek, with 3 more who were named as alternates.  Their concert will be Tuesday November 19th at Frederick High School.

  • Fiddle Group has opened the season with an invitational performance at Longmont’s Unity in the Community.

Fine Arts

  • Braeden Macchia awarded second place in the Congressional Art Competition for his drone based photo.  This was sponsored by Representative Joe Negeuse.  His art hangs at the Colorado capitol building.  

Athletics

  • Preston Waller-State Qualifier Boys Golf- This is his 3rd time qualifying for State
  • State Qualifiers for Tennis – Ashton Ballingham (3 Singles), Nischal Gorla and Miles Lacis (3 Doubles)
  • Cloe Ruth Placed 3rd in the Nike Oregon Cross National Cross Country Championships
  • Unified Athletic Bowling Team participated in the Northeast Regional
  • Soccer state qualifier-5th seed
  • Cross Country, girls team state qualifiers, Alina Belser-Brinck, Maya Goodman, Daphne Moe, Cloe Ruth-1st, Mackenzie Livingston, Mia Kunio, Emerson Laughlin, Megan Bader-5th
  • Noah Zweers-State Qualifier
  • Softball-Round of 32 Qualifiers
  • Soccer invitation to state tournament seeded #5. 

Silver Creek Leadership Academy

  • 52 students in the senior class have begun their capstone project process.
  • Support provided for the Education on Parade event
  • Support Provided to Unity in the Community Event
  • Mock Interviews have taken place in 10th grade with community leaders

  • First Quarterly Event on October 8, hosted by Cisco at Northern Water in Berthoud, CO 
  • Senior Kaylee Crouthamel was invited to speak about Cybersecurity at the White House in Washington D.C.

Universal High School

  • Fall Presentations of Learning for UHS sophomores and juniors are occurring during the month of October
  • UHS seniors began this year with an average of 24 credits already earned towards graduation
