Principal's Update 6/4/15 School Start Time 2015-2016

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Since last fall, we have been engaged in an ongoing dialogue regarding the correlation of adequate sleep and student well-being and achievement. In response, district officials and I have been exploring the feasibility of readjusting Silver Creek’s start time.

Longmont Community Foundation honors graduating seniors

The Longmont Community Foundation handed out six St. Vrain Valley Community Service Awards and seven various scholarships Monday afternoon to college-bound high school seniors from the Longmont area.

The awards honored various traits from community service to musicianship to athleticism to commitment to extracurricular activities and academic success.

Graduating St. Vrain Valley seniors say finding passions, new experiences let them make most of high school

As local graduating seniors look back on their high school experiences, they have a slew of suggestions to help incoming freshmen get the most out of their four years.

Their expert advice includes getting involved, but not overextended and keeping on top of homework, but not letting grades or test scores define you. Other recommendations include staying open to new experiences and new people and taking advantage of tutors and helpful teachers if you struggle with academics.

St. Vrain high schools rank nationally in recent U.S. News & World Report Best High School Rankings

St. Vrain high schools continue to rank locally and nationally according to the recent U.S. News & World Report 2015 Best High Schools Rankings. In Colorado, St. Vrain high schools were compared to 448 high schools and four ranked in the top nine percent. Nationally, St. Vrain high schools were compared to more than 21,000 public high schools throughout all 50 states and the District of Columbia and four ranked in the top eight percent.

May 4: Game Cancelations

Today's JV and C team baseball games v Windsor have been canceled. 

Today's C team game at Mountain View has also been canceled. 

Make up days are yet to be determined.

 

April 28: Game Cancelations

Due to unplayable fields, today's JV and Varsity Baseball game against Mountain View has been canceled.

Both games have been moved to Friday, May 1.

April 27: Game Cancelations

Due to the rainy weather, today's C Baseball game at Northridge has been postponed and moved to Tuesday, April 28.

The Unified game at J.F. Kennedy HS has also been canceled. A reschedule date has not yet been determined.

 

April 18: Game Cancelations

The following events have been canceled on Saturday, April 18.

Track @ Boulder County Invite @ Everly Montgomery Stadium

**BoCo has been moved to Tuesday, April 21.  2:00 pm start time.**

JV/V Baseball @ Mountain View

**Moved to Monday, April 20. 4pm start time. **
