Silver Creek's Leadership Academy celebrated its 3rd Capstone Project Expo on Monday, December 12.
The focus of the Leadership Academy is to help students gain hands-on leadership experience and build skills related to ethics, communication, critical and creative thinking, respect, vision and teamwork. There are currently 325 students in the program from grades 9 to 12.
With first semester all but in the books at this point, I would like to take the opportunity to share with you several of the events currently occurring at Silver Creek High School. While our first semester brought some new challenges, we have also experienced unprecedented successes amongst our students and faculty.
Think back to when you were a student, back-to-school shopping, finding your classroom, and the exciting lessons that would soon fill your day. The first day of school jitters that were calmed by the friendly, welcoming face, and celebrating the “ah ha” moments when you finally figured out how to solve the problem. Then there was the time in kindergarten, when you went to the restroom but couldn’t remember the way back to your classroom. As panic set in, that friendly face walked around the corner and they knew exactly where your classroom was.
While summer becomes a fleeting memory, let me welcome all of you to the start of the 2016-2017 school year at Silver Creek High School! This year promises to bring opportunity, innovation, leadership, arts, academics and athletics to a Raptor near and dear to you. We are very excited as a staff to welcome our incoming class of 2020, new students and all of our returning students.
Today's graduation ceremony was a momentous occasion in for our 2016 graduates and their families. Photos provided by the district communications team are now online - we will be adding other photos and videos as they become available.
